A true leader is someone who thinks of the next generation. Mr . Everett
Glenn is such a leader. He is a man of integrity and I totally trust my two boys
with him and his leadership. The BOSS program is a blessing and
encouragement to my boys to strive and achieve all that God has designed
them to be. We cannot raise our kids alone, but with the help of the BOSS
program and the time, efforts and all those who make the program what it is
, we are motivated to encourage our kids to dream big and do what is
necessary to fulfill that dream. Thank you Mr Glenn and BOSS.
BOSS Family,
1) I am the parent of 2 BOSS participants and want to urge your support for
and thank Everett and his team for the great job they did with the boys at
summer camp and throughout the year!
Each day at summer camp was a unique experience for the boys. They were
exposed to dynamic speakers like Ramsey Jay, who not only motivated but
also educated the boys on topics that will be useful to them during the school
year and in life.

Each one of the field trips they took, the Port of Long Beach,
Laker's clinic, Dodger's game, Rams' camp and the upcoming Chargers game
would be the highlight of the summer for most kids in Long Beach. Our boys
got them all! It wasn't all fun and games either, the boys also got to
experience 2 days at the Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo where they
got experience on future space technology and hands-on work with space
engineers and scientists. The boys received Chrome Books to do research,
they had "Math Madness" competitions, built robots, had reading
assignments, and (my boys least favorite activity) wrote argumentative
essays.
But, as a parent, the best part of the BOSS summer camp and the BOSS
program in general is that you knew the boys were in good hands with
Everett. The peace of mind, knowing your boys are safe, is priceless! So I urge
us parents to make a financial contribution to the BOSS program in whatever
amount you can. There is no way we could afford to send our boys to a
privately run camp that provided the safety and all of the activities that Boss
provided.

Good afternoon sir,
2) Sorry for the delayed response. I was traveling for the past couple of weeks,
just got back from London. See my brief passage below.
I was given the opportunity to speak at one of Everrett Glenn's BOSS summer
camps during the summer of 2015. My interactive speech touched on the
power of vision, focus, faith and commitment. The goal was to instill the
thought that anything you can envision yourself doing you can achieve as
long as you stay true to the aforementioned traits of one who prospers.

At the conclusion of my talk with the class I urged the student-athletes in
attendance to stay in touch after providing my business card to those who
were interested. I've stayed in close contact with 2 kids, but one in particular
has clung on like a little brother seeking guidance from a person that has
been in his position before.
Jeremiah has reached out for direction on decision making primarily related
to football. His response to each issue he's brought to my attention has had
the potential to profoundly impact his personal and academic future. In a
day where teenagers make more rash decisions because of their
idolization of rebellious leaders on social media, I find it important for
teens to understand how to make the best long term decision(s) by
analyzing all variables involved to avoid short term satisfaction and long
term regret. Jeremiah has listened to sound advice and it's needless to say he is happy with the decisions he has made. I simply want to assist with the
maturation process of young student athletes so that when they are in more
prominent positions, they have a voice, can think analytically, and can fend
for themselves. It is always a wonderful feeling when a kid seeks wisdom
and adheres to it - it's a rarity, but those are the types of quality kids the
BOSS program engages and the type of character the camp aims to instill.

Greetings,
We just completed our 4
th BOSS™ camp, an amazing 2 weeks of STEM
focused academic enrichment, leadership and personal development
curriculum for 50 middle school boys of color who participate in organized
sports. Staged from the College of Business on the Long Beach State
campus, the camp is the first step of our year-round, multi-year “process” that
will remove the obstacles boys of color see in their path to excelling
academically and joining the ranks of the successful.
We’re doing unique work with an increasingly visible group – athletes
obviously are highly visible in their school and college communities. We’re
not just working to make male athletes of color from under-resourced
communities and schools understand how to be successful, we’re helping
them to help their non-athlete peers succeed.

This is a highly positive
narrative, in an area where the spotlight is already looking for new news and
outcomes, i.e. nearly ¾ of all boys of color who graduate Long Beach Unified
high schools WILL NOT meet 4-year college entrance requirements (it’s
potentially worse for LAUSD boys of color) and reinforces the messages we
know we share and want heard by and about youngsters. We’ve confirmed
an 18.5% increase in scores on our math assessment and will be continuing
our engagement with the boys on August 12 when we travel to the Coliseum
to see the Rams play the Cowboys. Then we will transition into the
year-round programming with the boys that will include academic
enrichment, mentoring, real world experiences and opportunities for
advocacy and community service.

Hi Mr. Everett,
Thank you for having Caleb in the camp. God has given you a great vision to
see lives transformed. I am in the Caribbean, but would be coming back in
time for the closing of camp. We will be there Friday. My husband and I along
with our two other kids.
Hello Mr. Glenn
I want to thank you. Andrew is really enjoying himself. He comes home so
excited, telling stories and bragging to his sister about all the things that he is
doing at BOSS camp.
God Bless,
Hello Coach Glenn,
When I asked Aaron what he learned, he stated he learned “there can be
success beyond sports." Although, he hasn't decided on a future career he
learned through the BOSS
program that he has other options besides sports. Aaron also stated, "he
enjoyed the math madness tournament." He's a competitive young man so
turning something like math into a competition kept him motivated. I
believe the program was a wonderful opportunity and thank you for the time
you take with our children. The fact that you factor sports, academics and fun
activities all in 2 weeks is awesome! I apologize for allowing Aaron
to go to Vegas opposed to completing the last week of the program and that
he missed the ceremony, but I wish you and the BOSS program much
success!!
BTW- My ex-husband adds, he is glad that your program reinforces the same values and strategies that he has given Aaron.
Thank you,
The BOSS program is a very outstanding program that I've never been so
happy to join. As a student athlete, it taught me that there is much more
beyond sports and that yes you might make it, but you might not. If one does
not make it to the pros in their sport, we need to have a back up plan.
Furthermore, the BOSS program focused on finishing and finishing all of
what we do whether it's in sports or school. Learning that was very impactful
for me as a teenager, and I'm sure just as much when I'm older. I've never met
a man that was so nice and humble about everything. Every lesson that was
taught, every lecture that was given, and every time he decided to speak. Mr.
Glenn is making a great impact on all of the youth, whether we play sports or
we don't, any kid, any race, or situation they’re in can take many great lessons
from this program along with relationships that are being built every day. So
come join the BOSS program to become the boss you are
When my son came home from school telling me that there was this
program at school that he needed to go to a meeting for and had to sign up
for I was kind of reluctant and started asking questions like "who told you
that you needed to sign up?" "Who's the program for,all kids or just black
kids?". I encouraged him to go to the meeting. When he came home he gave
me as much info as he could and at that point I realized that I had to reach
out to someone to get more info. I proceeded with the application which got
accepted (at this point still not realizing the blessing I was receiving). Then, I
attended the parent information meeting. At that point I knew and felt that
this was a perfect place for my son. Jaylin Franklin has always been a thinker
he has,so many ideas, and desires and talents. Hearing Mr. Glenn speak for the
first time put my mind and heart at ease. Finally a place where he is loved,
protected, guided, and from people that understand. BOSS has been nothing
short of an AMAZING BLESSING to me and my son. Mr. Glenn cares about
each and every boy and is genuinely concerned for them, their well being,
and their future. Whatever expectation I had in the beginning has been by far
surpassed. I'm honored to say my child is a part of a well rounded program.
THANK YOU for your genuine love, support, concern, dedication, and
leadership.

Mr Glenn as I elaborated before this program has been a blessing for Bryon,
myself and my family. All of the tools that you provided these kids are things
that are useful in the present and future. These skills are not normally given.
But you found the kindness in your heart along with the desire to want a
better future for our kids. This is something that we all should be grateful for.
I've said this to you in previous emails and in person, that this program is
phenomenal. Everyone that I have told about it was truly taken back by the
program.
Every day after the program, Bryon would tell me all about it. Also he would
show his excitement for the up-and-coming days. There was not one time
where he had apprehension or expressed a lack of Interest in attending.
I pray that this program continues to develop and I'm confident that my
family will continue to be a part of BOSS.
Hi Mr. Glenn. This is little Bryon jr. What the BOSS program taught me is that
I should never give up no matter how many obstacles are in my way. I should
just follow my dream and if I work hard enough it will come true. The BOSS
program is a really nice program for athletes and education. Everyone there is
only trying to help you in education and sports. What I really like about the
BOSS program is that it was helping me in my education and it was really fun.
I would definitely attend again.
1) I want to thank you for everything you have done to help
Andrew with this process. Your hard work and dedication to
BOSS students, especially Andrew, is not unnoticed. You are
an asset to our community! Thank you for being a part of his
village. Shamika JohnsonMother of Andrew Johnson

1) First off this experience exceeded our expectations. Going
from a meeting at our son's school about what possibilities
there are for young African American boys to seeing it come
together in such a way was heartwarming. We were
impressed by the structure of the program. A program that
addressed each student athlete to move their body and work
their minds. They were given priceless tools from guest
speakers who lived it, made the mistakes, and still came out
successful. People who looked like them and understood
what struggles and barriers they would have to endure.
Giving them real life advice with genuine intentions. The
program didn't end there, there were also opportunities for
field trips that were fun and informative. Lastly, what really
stands out is that the program is not limited to a 2-week camp
but follows its students to help them along their journey
through Middle school, High School and finally college. As
parents we are incredibly happy with the program thus far
and will continue working with the BOSS Program and Mr.
